The New Juaben North Municipal Chief Executive, Samuel Adongo has urged the public to treat the publication making rounds on the social media, that the assembly has turned down tertiary scholarship applicants last Wednesday as false. 

He said the publication is a complete sabotage to tarnish his image and the entire assembly. Speaking to GBC News on the issue in Koforidua, he explained, that there were a lot of activities at the assembly that day which is why the interview could not come off as scheduled.

However, he said the applicants have been rescheduled for today/yesterday but wondered why they went and spread the false allegation to some media houses that they were not given the needed attention. 

He further debunked claims that scholarship funds approved from the previous year's application cycle remain completely unpaid.

Mr. Adongo said the assembly will not take these false allegations lightly warning that their legal team will take up the issue.

The incident unfolded as several tertiary student applicants who traveled to the municipal premises for their scheduled interviews were allegedly turned away. 

According to them, the assembly officials reportedly told the students that the interview panel was unavailable due to other official commitments and claimed the Assembly had not received adequate prior notice about the national exercise timetable.
