New Juaben North Municipal Assembly fails to elect Presiding Member after three rounds of voting.

The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly failed to elect its presiding member after three rounds of voting. 

Neither candidate Antwi Jacob Kwame, the incumbent Presiding Member, and Kankam Daniel Twumasi secured the legally required two-thirds majority from the total valid votes cast. 

Mr.  Kwame polled seven votes out of the 27 valid votes cast, while Mr. Twumasi polled 10 votes. 

In alignment with the law, leadership is expected to convene another meeting within 10 days of the deadlocked vote to attempt the process again and secure a PM for the two-year assembly term.

The Municipal Chief Executive Samuel Adongo, reminded the assembly members that the lack of a Presiding Member is affecting the activities of the assembly and urged them to rescind their decision and elect a presiding member in the next meeting.
