Former Eastern Regional Director of GBC, Mrs. Angela Manor laid to rest.
The life journey of the former Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, Mrs. Angela Manor, came to an end as family, colleagues, and well-wishers gathered in their numbers over the weekend at the forecourt of the Inter Denominational Church at Legon in Accra to pay their final respects.
The final funeral rites, held in an atmosphere deeply charged with both grief and profound gratitude, celebrated a woman widely revered for her dedicated public service and impeccable leadership.
The service drew prominent figures from the media industry, local leadership, and members of the public who came to mourn a leader in Ghanaian broadcasting.
The ceremony commenced in the early hours of the morning with a pre-burial service and filing past.
Mrs. Manor was laid in a beautifully adorned casket, surrounded by dynamic floral tributes reflecting her vibrant life.
Mourners, predominantly dressed in the traditional black and red attire, filled the auditorium to capacity, reflecting the immense impact she made throughout her life and career.
In a moving tribute, representatives from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation described Mrs. Manor as a pillar of integrity and excellence.
She manages and mentored young broadcasters in the Corporation.
Her vision shaped the trajectory of regional broadcasting, and her loss leaves a vacuum that will be incredibly difficult to fill.
Family tributes painted a picture of a devoted matriarch, a sister, and a community leader whose generosity reached far beyond her immediate household.
The husband, Henry Manor eulogized his late wife and described her as a woman of peace and integrity.
He further described her as a gift to his life whose advice and support made him successful in life.
Following the church service, the funeral cortege proceeded to her final resting place for a private burial ceremony attended by close family members and selected dignitaries.
Mrs. Angela Manor was born on 5 th November 1960 in Tamale to Stephen Ofori Andrews and Katherine Awurama both of blessed memory.
She left behind a husband and three children.
