Eleven Sub-Chiefs Enstooled by Akyem Apedwa Traditional Council
The Mrantehene of Akyem Apedwa, Baffour Agyenim Boateng, has been elevated to the title of Twafohene by the Akyem Apedwa Traditional Council under the auspices of the Apedwahene, Osabarima Asante Frimpong Manso II.
The colourful ceremony held at the Akyem Apedwa Palace in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region saw the enstoolment of eleven sub-chiefs for the area.
It brought together traditional rulers, family heads, opinion leaders and residents, who witnessed the customary rites leading to their installation and the swearing of the oaths of allegiance to the Apedwa Traditional Council.
The newly enstooled chiefs were advised to discharge their duties with integrity, humility and commitment to the customs and traditions of the area.
Speaking after his enstoolment, the Twafohene, Baffour Agyenim Boateng expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people of Apedwa for the honour bestowed on him.
He pledged to support the Apedwa Traditional Council in promoting peace, unity and development, and called on investors to take advantage of the many opportunities in Apedwa by investing in the area to accelerate its development.
“I thank Nana Asante Frimpong Manso II for recognising the good work I have done as Mrantehene and elevating me to the position of Twafohene. I will not relent in my efforts. There are many opportunities in Akyem Apedwa, so I encourage investors to come and collaborate with the traditional authorities to support the development of Apedwa”, he said.
He further urged the youth to stay away from drugs, stressing that drug abuse poses a threat to their future and the development of the community.
The day also saw the enstoolment of Nana Kwabena Boadu as Adehy? Hene, Maxwell Ohemeng as Sanaahene, Daniel Yaw Siaw as Sompahene, Vivian Ntriwaa as Tufohemaa, Kwabena Agyei as Ankobeahene, and Nana Serwaa Sarfowaa as Ankobeahemaa.
Others are, Kwame Odei as Nkonyasoafohene, George Koranteng as Asafoakye. Nana Kofi Addo as Mrantehene, and Diana Ofosu Hemaa as Mbabawahemaa. The newly enstooled chiefs are expected to uphold the customs and traditions of Akyem Apedwa while working with the Traditional Council to support the development of the traditional area.
