Eastern Regional Youth Federation launched.
The Ghana National Youth Federation Executives have launched the Eastern Regional branch of the Youth Federation in Koforidua to bring together youth-led and youth-focused organizations from every corner of the region to ensure that the voices of young people are heard at local, regional, national, and international levels .
The federation will also drive youth policy advocacy that shapes government decision-making and build leadership capacity and promoting civic participation.
A five-member interim leadership team spearheaded by the Chairman, Maxwell Larbi has been inaugurated to oversee the progress of the federation in the region.
The President of the National Youth Federation, Sherif Ghali said the Federation is a transformative force aimed at mobilizing young people to actively participate in nation’s development agenda.
He charged the leaders to play their roles actively to help sustain the Federation to achieve its intended purpose.
The Deputy Director of Administration at the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council, Stella Someah-Kwaw in a speech delivered on behalf of the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey said the establishment of the Eastern Regional Youth Federation represents a bold step towards strengthening youth inclusion in governance and development.
She said it provides a unified platform through which young people from diverse backgrounds and youth organisations can engage constructively, harness their collective talents, amplify their voices, and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the Region and the nation.

The Ghana Youth Federation, GYF, is the apex, non-partisan, youth-led body recognized under the National Youth Authority Act, 2016 Act 939.
I encourage our youth to harness technology positively, uphold the highest ethical standards and use their knowledge and creativity to develop solutions that advance their communities and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our nation.
As young people, you have a responsibility to participate actively in national development, protect public resources, promote peace, and contribute ideas that will improve the lives of others, she advised.
