Eastern Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, pays a courtesy call on the Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Standards Authority, GSA, Andrew Lartey.

The Eastern Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, led by the Chairman, Stephen Ampem Darko Koranteng has paid a courtesy call on the Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Standards Authority, GSA, Andrew Lartey to officially introduce themselves to him and strengthen ties between the two organizations.

He congratulated the GJA Executives for their elevation and stressed the importance of the media in nation building. 

According to him, the Ghana Standards Authority is mandated by law to ensure standardization of products and equipment.

He said they are also to embark on routen surveillance in the markets and the manufacturing companies to ensure that products are of high quality and safe for human consumption.

He also mentioned metrology as another mandate given to them to ensure accuracy in measurement especially at the fuel station pumps. 

He however warned manufacturing companies who are embodying fake GSA stickers on their products to desist from such practice as sub-standard products will not be countenance in the Ghanaian market.

Mr. Lartey further stressed that they are the sole authority mandated by law to calibrate health equipment and urged health facilities to be guided by this to ensure that their health equipment is properly calibrated for use. 

The Eastern Regional GJA Chairman, Stephen Ampem Darko Koranteng said the doors of GJA is widely open for collaboration to promote the activities of GSA.
